Appearance: Clear, bright, deep red / purple with a crimson hue.
Nose: Strong varietal definition including blackberry and cassis fruits with well-integrated cedary oak.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied wine with typical sub district blueberry, olive, mint and spice characters. A dried herb finish is well supported by fine grainy tannins and French oak.
Cellaring: Enjoy on release or cellar for eight to ten years from release (October 2023).

Vineyard Notes
The most elevated section of our certified organic single vineyard site has a significant gravel component in the soils, which is crucial for the consistent production of premium cabernet sauvignon fruit. The 2022 cabernet was harvested at just 2.1 tonnes to the acre, which equates to less than 2.6kg of super premium fruit per vine. The vine age at the time of harvest was 28 years. The cabernet vines were hand pruned and hand leaf plucked (to ensure good sunlight into the canopy).
Winemaker Notes
Multiple blend tasting trials favoured a slightly higher proportion of Malbec (8%) in the 2022 Cabernet than in previous Rosily Cabernets. The final blend also includes 4% Cabernet Franc.
Production
There were 635 cases of 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon bottled, versus an average of 634 cases over the last 21 years (excluding 2006 and 2021 in which no Rosily Cabernet was produced)
